Masters of the Universe (2026)
I saw the new Masters of the Universe movie last night and oh my god it was great. By the end of it I felt like I was a little kid watching the original show while on the couch in my He-Man pajamas. If you loved the show back then or never saw it you should watch this movie. The movie doesn’t take itself seriously and they even make fun of itself by how ridiculous the 80’s show was. They make fun of the characters names including He-Man and how dumb the name is. It’s got violence and adult humor, with names like Ram-Man and Fisto its hard not to make a joke about it and they deliver. There are a lot of differences from the original shows which some work, and some don’t. One thing that still bugs me is the location of where Castle Grayskull is located, it just doesn’t feel right. The movie makes references to everything He-Man over the years, from internet memes to the original 1987 movie. There are even villains from that movie and a special cameo from an actor from that movie. I wish the cameo had more importance than it did, it would have been a great King Grayskull moment (the original champion of Grayskull) but it was still fun. I was not too impressed by Jarad Leto who plays Skeletor. His voice is too deep and sometimes hard to understand. Overall, it was the movie kids of the 80’s have been waiting for and its paid off big time. I hope a new generation of kids will see this movie and give it a chance, this franchise has a lot of lore on which they can expand. By the power of Grayskull, this movie has the power!
